About me.
Hello! I am Christy (Lamaine) Molnar. Diane (McGuigan) and Lawrence Lamaine are my parents. James and Joyce McGuigan are my maternal grandparents. I am the second of nineteen grandchildren in the McGuigan family. I am married to Dan and we have three children, Christopher, Justin, and Danielle. We just recently celebrated our McGuigan family Christmas at the Absecon American Legion on December 27, 2024. At this celebration, the 6 Elders: Diane, Jim, Eddie, Denny, Kathy, and Bob sat at a table in front of us and one by one introduced their family members. They also shared some family memories. I realized that the family history needed a better way to be shared and preserved. I decided to start this blog. This blog will only be successful with input from all family members.
My most cherished memories at Christmas were from the 1980s where we all crammed into the McGuigan house on 122 N. Brighton Ave in Atlantic City. (According to Zillow.com it sits on a 797 sq ft lot with a whopping 1,016 sq ft.) We packed that house each Christmas for a buffet style dinner. How did Gram do it? Love! We would then all bundle ourselves up and head to the Millers’ house. (I don’t remember the address.) I am sure the square footage was even smaller. We’d fill the rooms and sit on the floor and eat Jesus’ birthday cake. Grandmom and Grandpop Miller and Aunt Dot kept their house warm in the winter. One year, a cousin’s fart just seemed to linger in the hot house air for what felt like hours. Grandpop kept asking if someone had to go to the bathroom. That memory still makes me giggle today.
